Wanted to review this swim hole merely so folks understand that Catskills are LITTERED with tons of beautiful swim areas. Plan to stay an hour or two tops, the water is ice cold, and there’s not much space to hang out and picnic even. The parking is very limited.. Sad it’s come to that but worth it to protect this gem. I would totally volunteer at this location just to help preserve our beautiful state. Please for the love of god, stop tagging this spot in social media. Not only is it beautiful and as blue lagoon-ish as it appears in photos, it is one of the few swimming holes in Upstate New York that I've ever been to that has parking lots, port-a-potties, and clearly marked maps, which is made possible because it is part of the Sundown Wild Forest and is kept up by the state. The permits are free—they are designed to reduce the traffic to closer to 200 a weekend. There's garbage everywhere. Wish we. Please clean up after yourselves.
